I am Saša Živković (b. 1961), an illustrator, draftsman and visual storyteller based in Stuttgart, Germany. After studying architecture in Belgrade, I developed an independent practice at the intersection of drawing, illustration, design, film and animation.
My work is defined by expressive line work and an atmospheric visual language. I create illustrations, visual concepts and animation for both commissioned and independent projects – always with a story at their core.
For brands, I created the logo and illustrations for Monkey 47 Gin and the label illustrations for Horse With No Name, as well as visual concepts and artwork for the Bernrain chocolate factory. Selected clients include Black Forest Distillers, Pernod Ricard, Mercedes-Benz, Nike, MAD Magazine and Die Fantastischen Vier.
Projects featuring my illustrations have received the Red Dot Design Award (Monkey 47) and the iF Design Award (Horse With No Name), and my work for Freixenet won the Movierecord Award for Creativity in Cinema at El Sol, San Sebastián.
For film, I have worked for many years as an illustrator, concept and production designer in the art departments of national and international feature films, including Never Look Away (Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck), The Captain and Seneca – On the Creation of Earthquakes (both Robert Schwentke), and Weil ich schöner bin (Frieder Schlaich).
